oil leak

I just replaced the water pump on my 22re.... before i did this, it had a small oil leak(they all do). Now, the oil is pouring out of the front of the motor... did I do something wrong?

there's only a fwe places it could be leaking form in the front...from top to bottom...the vavle cover gasket....the HG( the part between the head and the timeing chain cover...and the front main seal(crank shaft seal)...that's al i can think for oil to leak from in the front of the enige
