Oil in intake

I pulled the intake on my 22re to clean it out. In the lower intake I found carbon build up,normal, but number 3 and 4 cylinders had some wet oil. Is it normal for there to be wet oil in only these two cylinders?

How many miles on the motor? Could be the oil rings are worn...and probably is.

the pcv will allow some oil through and it'll gunk up the intake

Oh, in that case, shouldn't be anything to worry about. Just make sure the PCV valve is working correctly....as in, not sticking or anything.

On the other hand, did you do a follow up valve adjustment after the rebuild?
