OEM toyota shocks?
Are the oem shocks any good? Looking at getting 4 new shocks for my 86 runner and the oem (not ome!!!) toyota shocks are very competitively priced. I don't want to run them if the blow out quickly or suck in the first place...

The OEM shocks on mine were ten years old when I bought the truck, and they were still doing their job OK. I've always heard/read that they are actually pretty good quality. Better than Gabriel/Monroe/etc domestic stuff. Next step up would be Bilsteins, if you've got the money($68 each).

At least upgrade to Monroe.
And shocks don't go bad all of a sudden unless they break. They gradually get worse so you don't just notice it one day. They don't have to leak to be bad either. Also they don't usually go bad in pairs. One could be blasted and the other fine.
