I was just wondering if anyone had used these headers before cause i stumbled up on one and they look like they would work great and another thing is they fit my budget very well. This is the one i was looking at.

It looks sweet but i just havnt heard anything about these headers except for one person who loved it. Let me now if you have previous experience with these headers. Thanks

Ive never used OBX but it looks like a decent header. Ive gone supersprint until i decided LCE was the way to go. Lots of money but i think the way to go. Between my two sets i noticed the flange (plate that bolts to head and welded to tubing) on the super sprint was thin, LCE was big, Ad says 1/2" plate which is right in between the SS and LCE. Im not super stocked on the mirror finish. It dosen't says chrome (which is very strong), so i don't know what the coating is. I would also mention that my SS had the same connection type from header to connecting tube. I didn't get the gasket for right there with mine and if the pic is what you get you won't either. So add 5-10 bucks from napa. I also had a helluva time getting that thing to not leak. I think i went through 3 doughnut gaskets in the SS. One last thing about that kit is that your really going to want to run a stock gasket at the head, there is none better. That gasket looks a lil pos to me.

It looks great, but due to the extra parts needed and my dislike for that type of connection i would vote no. Honestly if i hadn't cracked my stock manifold i don't think i would have ever done a header.

So just tossing out some numbers here, that header is 150+30 S/H + 15-25 gaskets so your at about 200ish to get it in the truck.

well the finish is just polished stainless steel which wont rust out easy at all. I new i was gonna have to get a gasket but thats not really a problem for me. But thanks for the input. it helped some.

Well I dont know about headers for 22re's, but I do know that every OBX header I've ever seen has been top quality. Everyone I know that has them on their vehicles love them and say nothing but good. So I would recommend the brand, just no first hand experience with them on a 22re. Hope this helps a bit.

yeah Ive heard to many store's of the pacesetter rusting out and the paint burning off, i think the obx is worth the 149.00 dollars.

WTF???? You guys get a $149 header, yet the same brand of header made for my 87 costs $270? I would give it a try for 150, but at 270 I might as well pony up for a DT or an LCE header. looks like the main difference is the connector pipe. Is there that much difference under the 2 styles of rigs? Weird.

Of course, after I post that up, the same guy now has the $149 header for the 85-89 22re's. Looks exactly like a pacesetter, but chrome. if the fitment was fine, I would be tempted still. Let me know how difficult the install was. If you have to redrill or bore out holes, I might just wait it out.
