No Pressure?

Something really simple here...well, hopefully. Just noticed the past few weeks that I've got very little pressure, so it seems in the gas tank. When I loosen the cap to fill up there is no "pssst" even when it's a quarter or half full. Should I just replace the cap and start there? Are gas caps standard sizes....and I guess Napa, Autoparts Extra, Canadian Tire would have those unless this is a OEM must have. Anyone?

i think because it is colder the gas is not going to expand as much.

If your vehicle is running good....as in adequate fuel pressure to the engine....there's nothing to worry about. Should the gasket on the cap be cracking and such, then replace it. Any of those places should have one. They're fairly universal.

This was happening even when it was fairly warm actually....I just never really thought anything of it until now. Our Civic makes a noticeable sound so that was sort of the initial trigger the next time I went to fill up the truck. I guess I'll try a new cap...would there be significant loss of gas if vapour is allowed to escape? Would this affect gas mileage and/or performance?

You will lose some fuel by having a leaking gas cap. But It wont be THAT much.
