I checked all the fuses under the hood and the ones on the drivers side kick panel and under the glove box. Then I drove it up the road to the the gas station and all my gauges started working and my heater fan started working so I cut it off and went in side. When I came back out and cranked it up non of my gauges came on and my heater fan would not work???

Does your instrument cluster lights go out too? Might be unrelated, but I had the lights for the gauges go out, and it ended up being bad wiring to the tail lights shorting out and the last owner wrapped wire around the fuse (which was blown too).

For the actual gauges going out, I'd say pull your cluster out and check the wire plugs on the back side, and the dash harness plugs on the ecu under the right side kick panel. Any signs of someone playing electrician is a good spot to check out carefully too.

No my lights don't go out just all the gauges and the heater fan, and the right side looks fine. I haven't pulled the cluster out yet. that's the next step?this is blowing my mind I have owned two 90's model Toyotas and never had this problem.

Ok, so the tail light wiring has nothing to do with it.

I got thinking what they all are in common with and simplest thing I could think of is the ignition switch. Fan and gauges would normally be disabled with key off. Here is a screen shot of the 94 pickup service manual. If you have a multimeter, get it to mess up, disconnect the ignition switch and check if 2 and 3 have connection on the ignition switch side. If you don't have a multi meter and are fine working with electrical, you could disconnect it and short out pins 2 and 3 on the harness side to see if the gauges and blower come back online. I suspect 1, 7, and 8 are working fine if the truck continues to run while it messes up.

Good luck

I have in the past to have the reverse light switch to rub a bare spot on the tranny and then short out and blew the Eng fuse ( I think it was the engine fuse, if I recall correctly) that will make all the gauges stop working. Sounds like you have a different issue and mine was on an 88. It is listed on the first page of my 88 build if you want to check out the link in my signature of what I went thru.
