No power to A/C Cpmpressor
I put a new head gasket on my 1990 toyota pickup and now my A/C will not work. There is no power getting to my compressor. When I jump the battery to the compressor, everything works just fine. A/C switch in cab lights up, everything under the dash is connected, new compressor, drier, condenser, etc.. replaced last spring. Definitely an electrical problem. I have looked at wiring diagrams and they do not help me as I really don't understand them.
Can anyone tell me how to back track the black wire from the compressor? I think I should start back tracking that wire to find out where the problem is. Basically, I am looking for some check points to check with a meter. Like I said, I am not so hot with electrical blueprints and stuff.

No time like the present to learn.
There are a number of things that have to happen before the Compressor clutch engages. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...ditioning.html Start with General Description
That same link also leads you to Troubleshooting. Don't forget the easy stuff, like checking the A/C Fuse.

I have checked all fuses, replaced the relay by the fuse box and check the fuses behind the glove box. I am going to take the schematics to work tomorrow and have one of my electricians explain it to me and try again tomorrow. I honestly think I have a cut wire as the guy who replaced my head gasket took it upon himself to delete my EGR and there is no longer a plug for it.
