No high idle when engine is cold

No high idle when engine is cold
Yet another thing with this runner....for the last few days when the engine is cold (sitting over night or all day at work) I don't have the high idle at start up.
The engine fires right up but immediately idles at warm idle 750 ish and boggs down until the temp warms up
any suggestions what may have went bad all of a sudden...

Idle air control valve, I would say. Run a search on that one.
Also, look on the web for autoshop101.com. That site explains a lot of your vehicle. Things the manual doesn't cover. But, there's an entire section covering Toyota air intake systems.

I forgot to mention that I removed the throttle body today to check the IACV on the bottom of it.I took this pic this after noon and want to know if the blackish cylinder looking thing, is that the IACV that I have read about?....if so how can it be checked.....it looks good to me and the center plunger will wiggle some
I did have to put it all back together so i can get to work tomorrow...but I think the short I have is a bigger issue

That's the end of the idle air valve. The rest of it's underneath. There should be instructions for testing on autoshop101. Test it before you go taking it all apart, though.
The E2 terminals are just grounds. I forget at the moment which is for which. In other words, I do recall that one ground is for the majority of the circuits while the other is for one specific one. (Then again, I may be mistaken. But, that's what I recall. I haven't done any tinkering for a while now.) So, run the ohm checks using the ground specified.
Note also that with disconnecting and reconnecting the AFM that sometimes wire terminals can back out of the connector (on the harness) a bit and not get a good connection to the male terminals on the meter. So, have a look at them. Push on them a little with an appropriate tool (battery disconnected) to see if any of them are loose. I've had this happen on the ground terminal on the '92 before and it kept me in circles until I found it. And, with the tingling, sounds like you may have a bad ground connection. Which isn't good because that stray current is passing through your engine. Not good for aluminum parts.
Anyway, run a search using my name......."thook"........with the thread title AFM testing. Read that and run another test on the meter. The test I ran in the thread is not covered in the manual or on autoshop. I diagnosed the AFM's on both my 4rnr's that way. If you have any questions, post up........of course.
BTW, there isn't a component called a "cold start valve". You have a cold start injector and that may be what Lumpy meant. Then again, he may have meant the idle air valve............but, it's not called a cold start valve. Don't mean to be a stickler, but looking through the manuals to find it, you won't....lol. As for a CSI, it's possible it could be sticky with the symptom your seeing, but I'd check out the code issue first.
