I was able to click on your links and the pics opened up....Looks like your truck has enough lift in the rear to match the front already. I don't see you factory stock leafs fully sagged on the overload.
The best way to make sure the coils will never fall out is to jack the rear bumper up til the tires are just barely touching the ground...then measure the space where the coils will go in. Should be 14 inches or less.

Went out this last weekend and unintentionally beat the crap out of my suspension... ZUK mod exceeded desired performance effect... A+. It flexed and compressed wonderfully!! If all of my mods, present and future, perform this well... I will be a very happy guy off road. I even got the satisfaction of a nissan recovery...

Ok guys, I'm finally getting around to doing this myself! I'm tired of the sag on the truck and I can't haul as much as I'd like. Read this thread, read Zuk's and Junkers88. I called Southwest Speed and messaged the Zuk for some more info. I have decided to go with the 5" x 13" x 150lbs I'm going no cut mod...Just don't want to cut it up if I don't have to.
I'll be starting a thread soon...Pic's to come! Here is how she sits now as of now with the new rims and tires...

Good thing inspections were not in play for me in CA while I was running this mod. BUT, good, as well, lookin out, brorealz. Can't hurt to think on it. ... Even so, I could pull mine in minutes... So, I think it's still not a hindrance to many ppl trying it if they're saaaaaggin, lol.

You didn't happen to ask after he said that about retaining bolts? If it's a buddy or convient run it by 'em.
As long as it's properly captivated they have no legal reason to fail it, just one guys oppinion which you can appeal.
Woudn't hurt to demonstrate with the highlift after they wrinkle thier noses at it

i am going to use the 11" x 5" coils with an adjustable perch and a rubber riser '
(so plus 2 inches or so)
13" total spring/riser addition
& im gunna crank the torsion bars in the front
i am aiming for 1-2 inches above stock height..
i recently bought 4600 bilstein all around to install and now im wondering if i will have enough travel in the shock to accommodate the 1.5" - 2" of lift i want.
the other bilstein 5100 shocks call for 3-4+ inches.
am I safe with the 4600 bilsteins at 2" of lift?
(so plus 2 inches or so)

I've been meaning to do the Zuk mod for a while now. Today I was under the truck (91 SC LB 4WD) and noticed that the drivers side top leaf has broken. The plan now is to swap the leafs in from my parts truck (91 SC LB 2WD) and add the zuk mod to make up for the missing leaf from the 2wd. I plan on ordering a set of 4600 Bilsteins to replace my worn out shocks all around. I have BJ spacers for the front end and am looking for a minimal 1"ish lift. What spring rate should I order? The 125's or 150's to counter the 2wd rear leafs?

Many of you guys have added the zuk mod with success, but your leaf packs don't look all that bad... Didn't the 1st gen 4runner have that stink bug stance even when it was brand new?
Here is a commercial from 1987:
The rear is lower than the front. It is extremely evident at the very end with the guy jumping, lol.
I don't think these things were ever raked with the front lower like modern day 4x4s are today. That is all in the name of crash test ratings and aerodynamics.
The zuk mod is still a visual improvement though! I am most likely doing it.
