Unhappy no compression

i have a 92 pickup with the 22 re i have checked the compression in all 4 cylinders and the gauge shows 0. I pulled of the valve cover to have a look at the timing chain first i checked to see if it jumped to do this i had the 2 dimples on the top at 12:00 and the distributor rod at 11 so it looked like it did not jump but the two guards on either side of the chain are broke with metal shavings every where. i heard if that happens that it could have messed up the push rods and lifters and that this could cause the no compression problem. what happend was i sold the truck it ran like it was brand new the guy did not want the truck he told me it was still fine no problem so the nice guy i am i gave him the money while i was out of town so now i am stuck with this problem if someone could help it would be awsome i am not a expert but i am intermediate

Timing Chain gear probably broken on the crankshaft. You can try and crank it with the valve cover off and see if the cam spins. Regardless, though you got some bent valves.
Probably hydrolocked it. Drain the oil and check for water.

To check cam timing, you have to compare the crank position to cam position, not the cam position to the distributor position.

These motors don't have push rods or lifters, so you meant to say rocker arms. With two broken cam chain guides and metal shavings everywhere, you have some messed up parts, and are probably looking at a complete rebuild.

Do like toyotaguru said, and spin the motor with the valve cover off, see if the cam spins also.

I don't know why it would be hydrolocked though. I'm guessing that the guide(s) broke and let your chain slip, and that bent the valves. Either way, you have major problems.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. Welcome to YT.
