No 2WD high, no 4WD high...Solenoids?
Been an ongoing problem since the day I purchased it...'90 4Runner A340H transmission. It won't go in 2WD high or 4WD high (or reverse for that matter) but it works just fine in 4WD low. I dropped the pan to see if maybe a solenoid wire was stripped or came lose just incase. I just want to know if the solenoids are the problem before I go ahead and spend $150 on something that may not fix the problem. Thanks.

I would look at the selector switch on the side of the tranny. The solenoids in the valve body control shifting of gears and torque convertor lockup. There's solenoid no. 4 in the t case that engages the 4wd.
