Newbie with 'new' 1993 pickup
Hey guys,
I just got me a '93 extended cab, 4cyl., 5spd. pickup! Super stoked since I really wanted an extended cab, but all were either v6 and/or automatic, both of which I didn't want. Truck has 195k and seems to have been well taken care of. Original owner was old man who put 90k on truck in 14 years. Last owner put 100k in 9 years. I love the blue color, despite it being faded on roof and hood. Truck has a new clutch, transmission, spark plugs, radiator, tires and battery. It does need some work, so below are a few things I'd like to adress with the truck and get any advice.
First thing is the shocks, they're shot! I've read good things about the KYB Gas-Adjust shocks. I think I'll go that route, any other suggestions? Besides the shocks I was thinking I might as well replace any crucial suspension parts, suggestions?
The air conditioning doesn't work. Compressor doesn't turn on or anyting. Being that it's an old R12 system, I'm hoping someone can or is willing to work on it. Suggestions? Anyone have success with a R134 conversion kit?
Brakes were done a couple years ago. They feel like the could be done again. Should I do brakelines in addition to new oil? Suggestions on good pads to use?
Anything else I should be aware of to check and/or replace to be on the safe side? It's my daily driver and I like to take it to the desert once in a while to ride my dual sport, don't want to get stuck due to negligence.
That's about it for now. Down the road I'd like to consider painting and maybe lifting it, but for now I just want it to ride nice and be reliable! Thanks!

Here's what I know about A/C. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-r134a-284801/ Don't try to do things half-way.
