What sort of problems were you having that made you change it?

I couldn't set the timing correctly with the bad tps. When you jump the T and E1 terminals to bypass the electronic advance, there is no change in idle speed with a bad tps.
Other symptoms were a rough idle and poor gas mileage. I also had horrible acceleration, but I think that's a result of the timing being so off. BTW, the timing I had set with the bad tps was so far behind! Luckily I didn't need to drive the truck while I was waiting for the parts and time to do the install. The time I did spend driving it before was excruciating. It took forever to accelerate up to decent road speeds. I hope I didn't do any damage. 4crawlers writeup on the tps was an invaluable help, I'd check it out if you have concerns about yours: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml
