New tires on the ole' girl!! Whoo hoo! Pics

Not sure what the red "splash" is on the tailgate (think it's the sun reflecting off the taillight lens of the 4runner or corolla), and I just remembered I also need to find that rubber "skirt" for the front tire engine bay (to protect the engine from water and such flying into it), but here it is.

My buddy owns a gas station, and for 70 bucks apiece he mounted and balanced these Goodyear Wranglers 235/75/15 tires. Decided to go with black outs........almost went with letters out, but at the last minute went with blackwalls. Oh well. Wanted to go with little larger tires, but couldn't get past the price on these. And since it resides in the pole barn during the winter to keep it away from the salt and I never take it in the mud, don't need anything super fancy. Grocery getter. :-( I know, pathetic, but that's how I am with stuff.

Now still need to fix the ding in the rear quarter. Damn, it never stops!

Thats a nice 4runner, man!

Before I went to 31x10.5s on my '93 single cab, I had GY Wranglers 235/75R15s. I actually hated those tires. They looked nice, but I got 4 flats in the first summer I owned it. All from rocks. One was a 3 inch rock-okay thats understandable, but the other 3 were small. Then I had Cooper Weathermaster in the same size, never got a flat in a year that I ran those. Drove over the same roads in the same condition at the same speed...

This thing is so pampered it makes you want to puke. This damn thing is nothing more than a "grocery getter" or "soccer kid hauler." Sad, but true. It took a lot of effort to acquire it, rebuild the engine, get it up to snuff (with more work to go), and I just can't take it in the mud or drive it in the winter and destroy it with the salt.

Matter of fact, it needs to rain here a couple more times before I'll take it out on the road...........want to make sure the salt is gone completely off the roads. Not kidding.

Now I just need to replace the driver side tires.......pulled the passenger side tires off and had them switched out. My buddy said try the blackwall look, but if I want to change, pull them back off and he would switch them around.

But I think I like the blackwall look, so will pull the other two tires off and have them swapped out.

I REALLY like this old truck and enjoy yotatech for all its help its given me.
