new head or fix old one.
Recently my alternator/ fan/ water pump belt shredded while running and i didnt notice it till i saw my temp gauge spike to the tip. after towing my baby home i put a new belt on and discovered that my engine tends to overheat now. turns out its a blown head gasket from the intense heat. also i discovered that the aluminum head for my 1986 22r had slightly warped from the intense heat. im in the process of a rebuild but i wasnt sure how i wanted to go about it. i want to gain a little power since im doing this and decided that i am either going to put an after market head on or have the original ported and polished and remachined. the aftermarket heads im looking at are all from LC engineering. i was wanting to know what would be the better option for power to cost gain.

i would go with an engnbldr head with oversized valves and torker cam, but thats pretty costly, getting your head milled and P&P and rebuilt might not be any cheaper tho...

I know no matter what i do its gonna cost me a good bit. im just more concerend with what would gain me the most power. and since i have the head off i was thinking of a new cam anyway. but i dont want something too extreme. i want a reliable motor. but i am always in search of more power. more important to me is torque. and with 37 boggers getting turned by my little 22r. torque is a necesity. and i love mud. and torque is the name of the game.
