New guy with engine swap???

First off Hello everyone and what a great forum! New to Toyota world and would like some "fresh input" from all you "oldtimers." My current daily ride is a 1986 2WD PU with a 22R and 4 speed. I have a chance to get a 1985 4X4 PU with a blown 22RE and 5 speed. Is not the 22R and the 22RE a direct swap?? Other than tinkering with the fuel delivery, I am thinking so. Other "special" concerns I should be aware of? Being the RE is injected are there differences under the dash I need to know? How about speedo hook up, clutch and bell housing differences? Appreciate any and all replies; Thanks

you might find some information in the below

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f158...riteup-241102/

I found link by searching 22r to 22re in google

Since you will be using the 5spd in the 4x4 pickup, your speedo, clutch, bell housing will all work with the 22r block.

I think that the entire fuel delivery system is different; tanks and lines(?), etc.
the wiring harnesses are definitely going to be different.
