New Clutch now some issues
Hey guys I just replaced my whole clutch and related parts in my 94 4x4 22re. New Parts all from Napa, clutch kit, flywheel, master, slave, clutch fork boot etc. My question is this.......the clutch grabs great now much better than before but when starting out in first the truck shudders a little bit and almost feels like the cutch is grabbing too much and won't let the truck take off. Also shifting from 1st to 2nd feels like it doesn't want to go in almost a notchy feeling. I have 80w90 plain old gear oil in the tranny. Should I switch to a better oil? Or does the clutch just need to break in yet? Or Could it be the pesky shifter seat bushing? I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience or if someone might have an idea what the problem might be.

Funny that this happens today. I just replaced all my clutch stuff (clutch, pressure plate, TO bearing and pilot) from Napa as well. The one thing I noticed was that the first couple of times I left a stop light the clutch would grab a little aggressive and I could smell that "burnt chinese food" smell. It only did it two or three times and today is the first chance I've had to drive it since the clutch job on Saturday. I think it may need a little "break in" period.
As far as the "notchy" shifting goes mine does that as well. I did notice that the shifter seat bushing and shifter cap bushing things are worn pretty badly. Well the seat bushing isn't even in there anymore. I went ahead and ordered new ones from Marlin Crawler and will be putting those in this week when they get here. I'll try and remember to update this thread with the results.
On a side note I had no idea how noisy my throw out bearing and pilot were until this morning. Now I can actually hear the radio instead of the tranny.

Yeah that'd be great if you could update junkers. I 2nd that about how loud the tranny can be mine was the same way. I might pop the shifter out tonight and see what the bushing and such look like if a replace that and maybe dump some redline in the tranny maybe that would help it out.
