Too bad you don't live around here.
I got a place that will sell you the CV's with a lifetime waranty for $50 and if you want to keep it without the core then a $50 core charge. I got one a few months ago to replace mine and it works great. They have been around for like 50 years and do a good job. But that is not a bad price for sure. Next to that place the best i could find was $100 each + big core. FYI for anyone else: try looking in the yellow pages/ask around. You just might find place that rebuilds them for cheap like this one. |

I have the cardones in mine and they seem to work fine. No problems here, but I don't really run my 4R all that hard.

On my 3rd Gen...
Got a Cardone a little while back, $99 new with no core required. Lifetime warranty. So far so good. Its a CV shaft... it works. Thats all I really care about. I used to work at an auto parts store way back, Cardone was decent stuff and I dont recall serious issues with them. EDIT: When looking for my CV, I found that ARI was also pretty common to find available. They have a lifetime warranty too... but when I looked into them further, ARI is in bankruptcy. I'm guessing the lifetime they're talking about is theirs, not ours, so I avoided that one.

i just replaced both of mine yesterday, noticed the boots were cracked while packing the front bearing. i paid $100.00 each from o'rielly (i think that is how its spelled) seems a little high but i was in the middle of the job and did not have time to shop, plus they have a low price guarantee, so i will shop today. to me, replacing the cv assembly is a semi pita.
