Need Step by Step Guild (valve cover and seals)

So new at this is not funny.

I need a step by step guild on how to replace valve cover and valve seals for 91 v6. Is there one available on this form?

The FSM covers that pretty well.

Summary:

Remove the air ducting to the throttle body.
Remove the intake plenum (a lot involved in this step)
Remove the valve covers.
Clean all of the surfaces of the valve covers and the head.
Check your valve clearances while you are in there.
Install new gaskets.
Install the valve covers.
Install the plenum.
Install the ducting to the throttle body.

You will need an FSM to get this done and take a bunch of pictures of the vacuum lines before you disconnect them.

Good luck.

Here is the FSM procedure for removing/re-installing the heads. Everything you need is in there (Note that every step on the 40 pages of that document does not have to be done to replace the valve cover gaskets. There's only a few pages that will apply to you. Only remove what you need to get the covers off.)

I agree with OutlawMike that you should do the valve clearance checks while you're in there, the procedure for that can be found here.

Make 100% sure you add FIPG where the FSM specifies. And you torque the bolts down to the right setting (3.0 is 4.0ft-lbs I belive).

Use the 93 FSM posted in the sticky
