Need opinions - Tire size and safety

As listed in my signature I have 15x12 Weld Typhoon with 36x15.50's.

The truck has 7" total lift and I would like to keep it that way. I was told today that I can't get anything in a 15.50 width for my wheels anymore. I was told that 13.50 could be stretched but would of course not have the same pad sitting on the ground.

I have 2 boys 6 and 8 years old that ride in this truck at times and I live 36 miles from the nearest city (all highway). I would never put them in danger but this truck has become my daily since I took my 240sx off the road for a rebuild. I have been told that it won't be that bad if I stretch 13.50's over the wheels (also dropping 1" smaller to 35's) and that my stability wont change much.

Does anyone have any real time experience with this situation?

So recap:

36x15.50x15's 7" lift (4 sus / 3 body)
to
35x13.50x15's same lift as above.

Any insight would be helpful. For those that are going to say lower the truck a bit, I understand your point of view, but I don't share it as I would rather go up in wheel size than go down in lift.

You wouldn't worry about that?

I'm sorry, I'm new to lifted trucks, my 240sx has issues with potholes if you know what I mean...

General rule of thumb is 2" wider than the rim. 1.5 is nothing to worry about.

Hawaiians (stereotyping here) seem to run like this. Haha.

Pasquotank county (Elizabeth City basically).

Thanks, she has been with me longer than my wife and I've been married for 10 years!

My grandma lives in Zebulon, Mom lives in Knightdale. Great place, I spent most of my teen years romping through that area.

15x12's? that thing must wander all over the road...better make sure all your steering components are in good shape. I would get rid of the wide rims and get a set of 8" rims with a set of 12.5" wide tires if you are worried about your family..JMO

LOL what?

I can let go of the wheel at 70 and go strait down the road....

What makes you think it would wander?
