Need opinions on my topper
Alright so I finally found a used single cab topper for my 91, It's in decent shape everything intact windows locks etc, But...... the paint is wrecked the clear is peeling and the paint is so thin I cannot buff this without getting into the primer. So I have a couple of ideas
1)Re-paint red like my truck, nothing special you know macco job couple hundred bucks. But I am eventually going to re-paint a battleship grey so I will have to get it re-painted to match. Looking to do this in the next couple of years. I have OCD so the way it looks now will not work, it will bug me to no end and I can't do it. I'm sure alot will say leave it until the paint but im sorry I just cant do it.
2)Line-x the whole thing!!!! Black will match with red or gray and I have a hookup that I can get it done for about 200 bucks.
Any thoughts?? Pro's cons on the line-x?? Added weight? Has anyone done this?? Is this a stupid thought? opinions welcome good or bad be honest and lemme have it

Agree with Matt92Yota, just go black, do it nicely and be happy with it. or........ Just prime it gray for now and drive as such until you paint all over.
Course, if you've got skills and a place to do it you could buy the paint in a single stage urethane for about $200 (with hardener and such) and paint the whole thing now!!!!!

So no line-x or just black paint?? Figure line x would be great due to it will sit outside occasionally on the side of the house and no worries spray off no wax not much maintenance. But the paint just looks smoother I guess hmmmmm still pondering both options.

If your ocd I'm gonna say get the maaco red paint job on the topper . I dont like line x on exterior parts mainly cuz dirt gets stuck in the low spots and looks like crap unless you armour all the crap out of it .

Just sand it out, wipe it down and use the interlux.Simple and you can do it in a couple of hours.Plus it will last.
