need to know how many bell housing bolts to remove

I'm trying to remove the inspection plate (converter cover) at the bottom of the 95 3.0 automatic A340H..so I can see the t.c. bolts and a oil leak....
I have removed 4 14mm bolts and can't seem to get the plate to slide down and off so I can get to look at the torque converter bolts to flywheel.I also see 2 more bolts one on each side of the bell housing just above the ones I have removed and they look larger than the 14mm ones I removed. I would say there maybe 17mm but not sure.I would like to know if I have removed the correct ones to drop the plate (4) 14mm bolts OR do I need to remove the (2) larger bolts to remove this inspection plate..I know at the bottom of the plate there is a flange that tucks back in to a grove in the bellhousing and I have bent the plate out so that flange (it that is what it's called?) will clear the bottom of the housing but still can't pull down on the plate to remove it
any help would be appreciated

These are the instructions from the FSM, there are no pictures and I've never looked at a 3.0 with an auto trans so I can't offer any more help

7) On all models, remove stiffener plates located on each
side of cylinder block. Stiffener plate fits between side of cylinder block and front of transmission.
8) Remove cover from front of transmission for access to
torque converter bolts. Remove torque converter bolts. Remove transmission-to-cylinder block bolts. Lower transmission from vehicle.

I have a manual so im not sure how much the same it is but there is one single bolt holding that plate (assuming youve removed the other ones) on and that bolts only job is to hold the plate on so it doesnt fall out during motor or trans installation. i just put a rebuilt 3.0 in over the last couple of nights and i forgot to put that bolt in so i had to remove the flywheel to get it in. Get a factory service manual. Or go to the stealership and make the parts department show you the the pic on the computer.

THANKS for the info...all I wanted to do was check the bolts on the t.c. and just have a look up inside to see if there is anything loose or wobbling that may cause my vibration grinding in that area so i will remove the stiffener brackets from each side of the motor to tranny and the other bolts below them to remove the inspection plate....sure sounds like a lot of work just to get the converter cover plate off
