Need help re-timing my 22re
Well lets get this outta the way first, truck: 1992 x-cab, 4x4 manual trans, 22RE!
This truck belongs to my brother, he ran it hot somehow, blowed the head gasket! So I helped him remove it and he sent it to a machine shop and now comes the job of putting it all back together, my question is this, do I have to remove the timing cover and all that crap to re time it? What is the best way to re time it, thanks for the help!

Ok that was a good deal of help, my question now is I am suppose to get the engine on its timing mark before I install the cam gear and chain right? Then put the timing chain and gear on and line it's marks up?
