Need Help picking a "LIFT"

I got an 88 Toyo 4Runner SR5 3.0 not long ago. I’m planning on a nice lift some where in 4-5 inches with some 33’s. This will be use on & off road with “no wheeling” just off road activity like; hunting, fishing, camping, and bumping trails. Looking for a cheap, safe but durable lift not including the whole nine yards. I’ve research about lift blocks and those are frown on. Lift kits are so expensive, and I don’t know if I need all those extras. I don’t mind buying them “used” but “new” would be best. Any suggestions would really help.

I was in the same boat you are too. I bought my 88 pickup bac in december and found ths board. I think if you are looking to just fit larger tires, lift blocks (bodylift) shoud be ok. Im still a newb on most of this so hopefully others can help. For light stuff, the stock setup is already durable. If you go with 33, dont forget to get the 4.88 gears!! I bought my truck with balding 33x12.5 and stock gearing (see my avatar) It looked cool, but shifting into third gear on the freeway to make it up a hill will kill your gas milage. Not to mention, I couldnt use fifth gear. 31x10.5 are the tires I bought temporarily till I can afford the gearing.
