Need help Clutch Problem

Hello all
Found a donor engine for my 1991 4x4 xcab with a 5speed 3.0 V-6. Since I am recovering from surgery, my brother and my bud have been putting it in the last two days. Well it is in and running well. The problem is that I have no clutch pedal. They have bled the slave cylinder and there is still no resistance on the pedal and it goes to the floor and stays there. What did we screw up? Please help, I still have the guys here for a few more hours.

Look underneath and check if the slave cylinder rod is actually getting pushed out. If not then your slave or master is shot.
If the rod's moving out then something inside the clutch housing isn't connected, and that isn't good news.

My brother says he can see the rod move a little, sorry I can't be more precise. We are going to work on other stuff for a while and then come back at it later. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated. We are also getting a 1 man bleeder so he can pull the fluid through, if that makes sense.
Thanks

Sorry, that's about the limit of my suggestions. I don't know how much the rod should move. I drive an '01 4Runner with an auto tranny, so I don't have something to look at and see.

At least this will bump your post back to the top.

Try reverse bleeding it as you've mentioned ("...pull the fluid through...") to get some pressure into the cylinders and give it a go then.

I am having the same prob. With the pedal on the floor you can watch the slave cylinder go out and then slowly go back in. I have changed the slave cylinder and bleed the sys, a few times. I think it's the MC, my question is should I go with Toyota or aftermarket? Any help / experince would be great. Thanks Bryan
