1990 runner 3.0

This TVV is a little 2-nipple sensor that screws into the coolant loop on the back of the engine, right next to that u-shaped hose. The top nipple apparently rotted off and the hose is just hanging there.

I either need a bypass solution to eliminate the thing, or a link to buy one. There's no dealership here. Nearest dealership is 100 miles, and they quoted $55 + shipping.

If there's no way to delete it without throwing a code, does anyone have any tips for how to remove and replace?

I've already moved the heater hoses and other sensor plugs and u-shaped hose out of the way, but it's really tight back in there; no room for a wrench at 1st glance. Any tips?

All I did was type TVV into the search bar. That's after hunting high and low, through deep forests, wild jungles, tumultuous seas, foreign lands, high temples....whew, I'm exhausted....hehehe

Well, on closer inspection, my TVV had been broken and repaired by a previous owner (or their mechanic).

It was gimpy fix: they used a snippet of a spray-stem from a can of carb cleaner. It was just jammed in each end; likely not an effective vacuum fitting.

So I carefully epoxied the snippet into the broken off nipple that was still stuck in the hose end.

Then I set up boat cushions on the engine so i could belly up on it.

Then i mixed up another tiny dab of epoxy and carefully glued the other end of the snippet into the sensor.

Then I mixed up a third tiny dab of epxoy and oozed it around the joint to ensure a good vac seal.

I also had to repair a wire that broke off one of the sensor plugs.

My back hurts and my ribs hurt. Now I hate that coolant loop even more.

I'm pretty sure that if you want to successfully repair the TVV while it's on the vehicle, you have to combine all of the following:
1 - hundreds of curses hurled at Toyota and the 3.0
2 - beer
3 - boatloads of either skill or luck applied to juggling little pieces of crap that have little dabs of epoxy on them. (In my case, I attribute my success purely to skill )
4 - holding your tongue out and also keeping one eye closed the whole time
5 - a petzl tikka headlamp
6 - more beer
7 - 5-minute epoxy so that you're always in a panic, and barely get things stuck together in time, but then only have to hold them together for a minute or two until they're set. This can only be accomplished with careful prep wrok and at least two beers.

On the bright side, i used a rose-gun to suck pretty hard on the two water bypass outlets while I had that u-shaped hose off. They both gave a load a coolant with no problem. So i don't appear to have any blockage in the coolant system back there.

Unfortunately, my runner still won't hold sufficient operating temp to stay in overdrive when on the freeway in the winter.

I've got a blockage somewhere, I just don't know where.

I guess it didn't help my search any that for some reason I would call it the TTV valve.
