need help with this 22r !!!

Motor was a 22re i swaapped it opver to the carb set up and also rebuilt the motor at the same time. motor was bored over, stage 2 cam, dual springs , chromoly retainers ectt.... When this was done i also bought a new weber 38 carb and i have had a buddy adjust it until we got it to run good. cam sounds mean motor will rev great but i have like no power while driving!?! i HAVE 38" tires with 5:29 gears, and if i go off roading it will spin them like there nothing on concrete or highway it moves but like a turtle. ALL talk no walk type of deal. ?????

Ive played with timing adjusted from 0-8 and really no big changes still seems really slow. i have stock little toyota blowing by me like im sitting still. An with the beefed motor and gears i sound be atleast right beside them.

ive also noticed if sit a red light for to long it will take off fine but i when get going it try to stall out (sometimes it will) and i pull off the road it will start back upa nd im gone again.....?

Im running one of the cheap mr.gasket fuel pumps. Runngin it at 3psi but ive also heard that these carbs need like 70 GPH rating?? and this one is like 30-35GPH i belive, maybe this could be a problem not getting enough fuel ???

thanks stan.

For one...that weber is too big. Not helping. Most do the 32/36

second. you have 38 inch tires and 5.29's. not a recipe for speed.

You have a 2.4L engine with 38" tires. It's not going to throw you back in the seat when you get on it.
You should be able to tell if your running out of fuel or not while driving. And double check the timing.
