Smile need help!

Hey, i was wondering if a axle out of a 1996 is the same width as my 1990 axle.?

just looked over this site and it doesn't seem that they are. till 95 is listed as 58 - 58 1/2 wide and after 95 is listed as 58 1/2 - 60 wide

i have a 1990 truck, i just want the factory locker out of the newer truck.
and my axle is almost done , so i was wondering, how close they would be.

Why not just put the new locker in your old housing?

that site says that the 3rd members are the same so as long as the gearing is the same i'd think they'd fit

There are a few mods to the housing required. Some grinding and welding.

Maybe someone here will post up a link or just search for a "HowTo".
