Name these "things"

Hey dudes. I just got a "new" 94 with a 3vz. It has some issues, and since I'm not totally familiar with these bad larrys yet, I thought I'd ask you guys. First off... here's the rig.

1) I found this hanging out near the frame rail on the drivers-side... it's a white plug, and I traced it back to somewhere near the alternator (in between the alternator and motor)

2) Two vaccum lines loomed together on the passengers side,

one's blue, the other looks white-ish, but I traced it back to here

I thought I read somewhere the blue was vsv or egr and read was fpr... which scared me. One was "sucking" air when the engine was running.

Thoughts? Thanks. -Nels

Dont know abut the first one. Most likely just some extra plug for an option your rig didnt come with. Toyota used the same harness for the vehicle regardless of options, so extra plugs and wires are the norm.

The second are the vacuum regulators for the Automatic Differential Disconnect. Does your 4wd work? Do you have manual locking hubs? They need to be capped/blocked off whatever. They are causing a vacuum leak, probably sucking in un-metered air.

Edit: Is it SAS'd? I see a differential hanging down in the front...

SAS, yes, and I do have manual locking hubs. So... can I just get rid of this entire set-up? I'm going to be doing a little engine bay cleaning, and I'd like to get rid of anything I dont' need. Thanks for the response! -Nels

Yes, just get rid of it. Make sure they capped somewhere so its not sucking in un-metered air.

Simply loop the ADD lines together or block them off individually.
