mystery plug in????
this is a buddys truck he has got an 89 4runner full load(if that helps)
beside the fuel door release there is a plug in that looks like your typical 2 prong 120 V house plug.
any ideas what this is??

Might be a heater for those who live in really cold conditions. If that is the case its there to keep the water from freezing and the oil from getting to thick.

You lucky you! I believe they came with SR5's. 1986 4Runner FSM shows it as but my 1986 4Runner DLX does not have it. Handy to have, but it would be nice to replace that bulb with ultra-bright LED's for more light and durability.

I found an inspection light in a Jxxp at pick and pull about a year ago. It has ford markings, but it has around twenty feet of self retracting wire and a magnet on the end, so your light stays put. It grounds to the body and has a hot line to the battery. I rand a 10 amp fuse and a switch under the hood. Definately worth five bucks.
