mysterious wire / cable / sensor ?? behind dash

I was replacing my shifter bushings today and removed the plastic cover right in front of the shifters and found a strange looking wire / cable





My truck runs fine, theres no problem i'm just wondering what it is

so thats the end of the antenna or should that be plugged in somewhere? It seems like my fm antenna shouldn't be sitting on the floor.

if it help is have an after market head unit

that should plug into the back of your HU. has your radio been working or do you have an aftermarket/second antenna of some sort?

it is the rear glass embedded antenna connector, used by stock headunit, but most aftermarkets dont support it.

4runners came with a diversity antenna setup to improve reception, one on the fender, one in the rear cargo glass. disregard that plug if you have an aftermarket setup. it is fine to just leave sitting there.
