OK, start with the basics:
1) Have you checked it for codes?
2) How do you know it's running rich?
3) Is it running rich at idle or during cruise?
4) Have you ever adjusted / opened / or tweeked the AFM?
5) How long has it been doing this?

"I can smell it"
Do you have a cat on your truck? If not, you're going to smell rich all the time.
Even if so, with a cat that's not heated or that might be going bad, you'll be able to smell the fuel under normal conditions.
There is a wheel on the AFM, at least 22RE - and I believe the V6 that can be rotated to impact the base mixture. Don't touch it if it hasn't been messed with.
IF your MPG is OK and you're not spitting black yuck at idle, it's likely that you're not rich... Do you have a sniffer test where you are?

Do you have black smoke or black stuff coming out of the exhaust at idle?
Are your wheels/tires/gears/ stock?
You said you "messed" with the AFM - what did you adjust exactly?
