So i have a 1995 4runner and every morning that i take my truck out to work its a 50-50 chance of this occuring. I have an automatic tranny. When i get onto the highway i push thruogh 1st and 2nd with no problems but when i get to around 45mph and my rpms reach the regular 3000x to transfer gear into 3rd, my gears wont switch, instead my rpms will soar up to 4000x and wont slip into 3rd, I will have to pull over and try again and hope that it transfers.
It doesnt make any noise, shake, knock, nothing. And my transmittion fluid is at the appropriate levels. Please help because its scaring me and i dont want to rebuild me transmittion..... im hoping its a sensor or something small.. anything helps!!!

Valve body is sticking. Have it serviced someplace that is reliable. Dollars to donuts its the governor.
