I need front pads, and new rotors and pads in the rear.



I need tires here pretty quick, too.




I'm going to rotate and balance my tires one last time to see how much more life i can get out of them... but I really need to get the brakes done.




I could do the work myself... I just dont have enough time between work, my band, and running sound at a club.


Now, I don't need no brembo super stopping brakes... just some good brakes.


I've heard good things about napa brand, but im not sure.



What are the best and most cost effective brakes in your experience?

The Raybestos pads were my choice on my student budget. Not the cheapest, but they won't eat rotors like cheap pads, so cheaper in the long run.

Yeah I have the napa brand "adaptive one" and they are great. The inner pad and outer pad are made of two different materials and stop really good. Kinda pricey but what isnt with good results.

Changing out your break pads doesn't take that long at all, just wake up an hour and a half early, it'll save you a lot of money in the long run, and if you take it to a chain shop, they mess a lot of stuff up so be careful...you'll make up that hour and a half of sleep not wondering if the shop did the job right, possibly resulting in a violent and firey death.

Ya, i dont take it to chain stores.



My mechanic has such a good rep, he doesnt even bother being listed in the phone book.

Jesus Christ! Just Do It! Get the cheapest (softest) pads at Krappen's and take a short break from that intense work/playing-in-a-band/clubbin' stuff you're caught up in, and Just Do It! All of 30 minutes outside in this beautiful Fall weather and you'd be good for another 15k miles. Too busy clubbing - Give me a BREAK!

...and, if you're rotating your worn tires to get few more miles...

...you do NOT need to be PAYING MONEY to someone to change your brake pads!

And, when you're in Kragens, it's shoes you want for the rear axles, not pads. IF your actually need them.

And, installing new rotors may take a little longer break.

Hint: Buy used tires at the U-Pull-It yard.
