red snappah SFA swap

Well a long awaited next victim "drum roll please"

beautiful red snapper the latest ride a 86 4 runnah.

It has a little rust and but guess what the rear tail gate electric window actually works it has 136,000 miles on it.
The interior is cherry the carpet looks great in it.
Stock for a little while....

Just admiring it..

It's been two years since I was offroadin I feel like crying like I have been stranded on a desert isle...

Ok enough with the emotions....

My g/f posing next to it I couldn't have gotten here without her...

Anyways scored a set of 4 35x12.50 bfg(pre KM)tires with 1/2 tread mounted on 15x10 AR chrome rims for $180.
I'll need a body lift before that though lol.
Anyways Peace....

Wow...looks just like my '86...interior, rust and all. 'Cept my factory bumper fell off a long time ago...lol!

If you want to hang on to that gem, take care of that rust before too long. It won't stop even if you talk sweet to it.

Pretty lass. Thar be a calendar fer those interested, matey. See the Yotatech calender thread in off topic, if you haven't already. She's a definite candidate 'long side the runner.

yea just getting it running and rust taken care of and save those big tires for once its ready for them.. if you put them on a truck and is in need or repairs and daily drive it it will cook those parts even faster..

windows working running runner for that price that can go topless!!!

I WANT ONE!

Pics of the used 35" shoes I got on the cheap.....

ahh they are pre KM's but for tires and rims under 200 bucks they are a decent deal.

it's a rear seat delete .

you can remove the rear seat , and "bolt" this in place making it more like a bed ..
what ever you do , dont toss it .. it's actually quite a desirable piece in the "offroad" community .

check out http://www.toyotafiberglass.com ... we have some nice replacement 1/4rs'

You'll most likely never, ever need it, though. It will become a burdsome hunk of steel in your garage. In which case, I could take that burdon off your hands for you. Yeah....mhmmm.

Ummm keeping that piece I think....

Only mods so far I've done are:

1. I ripped the red sash peice below the bumper off.
2. Started doing a little rust work. I dunno about the rear fenders I may trim them instead of doing tiger hair and bondo work.
3. Sanded and painted the windshield wiper arms.
4. Sanded and painted the 15x10 chrome rims to semi-flat black.
They look much better...No chrome
Was looking at bolting the 35's on today... well maybe later...

Mod's the G/f has done she cleaned the whole interior wiped everything down door panels roof liner etc.
We took it down to the car wash and blasted the grease and crap off the frame and underside as well as cleaned the exterior.

We pulled up the carpet and checked the floor boards in it. Amazing no rust spots anywhere.
So the only rust spots on the whole thing is what you see in the pics around the wheel well exteriors.
The frame has some surface rust in spots but most of the factory paint is still there.

Also it's registered and legal now sorta....

I actually like having the seats in it.
I think next I'll be looking for new rear springs the back sags a little too much for me.
Unless I can find some used TJ coils hanging around.

I've seen them on ebay within the past couple of days going for cheap. The coils, that is.

Well, if you ever decided on letting go of that delete panel, I'd be interested. Would just depend on what you'd be asking for it.

Hey they fit with a slight bit of rubbing.......

The redneck dragster look....

But seriously the other tire is flat so I have to find the leak before I complete the look...

However that's 35's on 15x10's with 4" BS on a stock 86 4 runner with no lift and sagging rear springs....

Let me know how those 35's are on stock gearing, Assuming you have the 22re, and 4:10's. I'm "in the market" for some 33's in the not-so-near future, but would love to have 35's on it. Or at least 34's.

Seriously, let me know about the tires.

Great score for $600, too bad it's IFS!

I actually threw in a 4.10 diff in my old 82 truck once with 35's. On a flat surface it was fine but on hills it sucked not alot of power.

Well g/f is whining to me this morning she wants the old tires back on it so she can drive it.
I guess they will come off for now until I get at least a rear spring lift and a body-lift.

Hmmm my 4 runner I think misses the 35" tires......
I think I should get a 2" body-lift and lift the rear.
