My new ISR
Ok. Have problems with the idle issue like everyone else. Convinced my wife that it was due to the intake having frozen and busted. So here are pics.
The pipe is a custom done job by a muffler shop. Pulled in and removed my intake. They fabbed it for me in about 30 min. Drilled the holes and treaded them for the brass fittings. cost--$43. The coupling boots are from auto parts store, 3" to 2 1/2", but had to mold the smaller side with a heat gun for it to fid onto the throttle body and the filter box. $15. Paint was $6 for the hi temp stuff. Had to replace couple of hoses for less than $3 from parts store.
So in all, I've got 'bout $60 in this mod.
Now to just get that dang idle fixed.

The shop was gonna use 3" but with the brake cyclinder in the way, they went with 2 1/2. The original plan was to use a 1:1 coupling, but for that size, it would have been expensive. So they flared out the pipe to 3" on the ends so I could use those couplers.

all I can say is that since the pipe has a smaller diameter than the throttle body, it could be a restriction to air flow.
overall, I think it looks good, but it would be better if changes in cross section were non-existant.
If you look at that last pic, the pipe didn't have to come out as far as it did from the throttle body before making the turn to the AFM: it could've left the throttle body at an angle to mate with the AFM.
