My new first gen! (with a few pics)

1988 4runner, 295k, not in bad shape and is hopefully going to be a good mountain car. grabbed some bedliner at napa and lined the bottom, but left the tape on too long and screwed up the paint lines, looks alright I guess. We took it up to east vail to scout some cliffs and lines for the upcoming winter.

i hate all my fellow first gen'ers that don't have any rust. . . .not really "hate", i'm just jealous. it looks good! mine used to be red with a red top too. now most of the red metal is gone and the red fiberglass top is faded to pink. sigh. . . .

They are a bit of a rust magnet ain't they. Just filled the littl'ish holes on the wheel arches on mine over the last few weeks before they get any worse. Keeping them that way though is a different thing.

That looks nice mate. Some stunning scenery too. Christ I envy those of you who get to play in snow. We're lucky if we get a sniff of the stuff over here these days.

Ya, I have cleaned her up a bit since I bought her for 1800 -not a steal, but not bad either. She does have a bit of rust along the rear fenders mostly, but its not bad, and the frame is in good shape.

I am planning on keeping her mostly stock. A locker would be the first mod. I may add a little lift in the future.

Oh, and also I want to replace the rear springs.
