I've been looking for a 4x4 pickup for almost a year now and finally found one I could afford that had everything i wanted. So I'm now the proud owner of this 91 XCab. 5 spd with the 22RE.
Not sure of my exact plans with it other than to keep my other car out of the winter weather. I;m new to toyotas and 4WD in general so Ill have plenty of newb questions.





I cant believe how clean the interior is for a 17 year old truck.



I need a new rear bumper. I want a guard in the front with some lights and some steps on the side(Ive got a 4 yr old and he loves the new toy!)
I would also like to get a camper top for it.

Oh no, not another Tony........lol. Welcome to YT, and the never ending addiction. Nice find!!! When I had my '91 reg cab longbed, I always wanted the xtra cab......now I got my 4runner.....well ya know.....anyways you'll soon be part of the poor Toyota owners club.....!

Camper top was the best thing I ever put on my truck. Nice dry storage year round and you can remove it in about 5 minutes if you have to.

Thanks! I wanna rig something up in my garage where I can lift it up out of the way with a pulley or two so that its safe and outta they way when Im not using it.

They dont salt the roads where you live do they..?
If you plan on taking it in the snow on salty roads might wanna give the frame an oil coat now, and wash the underbelly bout once a week

Plan it as a daily driver and weekend warrior? Your first little upgrade for it may want to be some more aggressive tires; maybe some all terrains would suite you perfect!

thanks, I'm not sure just yet what I'm going to do with it.

Its got some undercoating spray on it I believe either that or black paint.
I thought they salted the roads here but not sure we don't really even have bad winters here but I just moved on top of a steep hill that my other car wasn't doing too well with and have always wanted a 4wd truck.

I agree, mudflaps have to go. My buddy took his off his Yota, and it just looks so much meaner from the back now.

Nice truck, I am jealous of your find. I paid more for a 1986 without the xtra cab and its not EFI. Nice tires i guess tho.

I have to disagree about the mud flaps. If all you do is wheel it, then fine, take them off, but if you use it on the road then I consider it to be courteous to other users of the road to make a good faith effort to reduce the crap flying off of my tires, and possibly chipping or cracking someone else's windshield. They also reduce the beating that your rockers and back fenders will take from the stuff being kicked up by the tires.

Yeah Ill probably keep the mudflaps till they get in the way. Where else am I going to put my chrome naked lady trucker stickers? My other ride is a lowered car with a million rock chips in the hood and bumper so I can appreciate the mudflaps.

This morning the truck warmed up fine as I was loading, but once I got on the highway the temp gauge buried itself in the cold... I think the thermostat must be stuck open... I might throw some cardboard in front of the radiator on the way home I know it cant be good for it. Unless its just the gauge but that seems to working fine.
