Hi I have been lurking here for a few years and just recently registered.
This is my 86" 4Runner DLX. I just rebuilt the 22re after 313,000 miles.
It has:
1.5" BJ Spacers
14" Rear coils (ZukMod)
4:88 V6 Diffs
285/75/16 Nitto Dune Graplers
RUST FREE body and frame (Florida Truck)
Very clean complete interior

This is a on-road vehicle!
Future mods: front and rear bumpers, Softopper, header and exhaust system.

Did you weld for the ZUK mod or just cram them on there (to the frame side)? Any pics?

My rears are running on overloads and have been for 60K miles....need to address that soon....

Thanks for all the kind words so far.
The tri-angles where already on the truck when I bought it. I hated the paint job at first but I has grown on me.
I did just cram the springs in the split bump stops and have not had any problems.

Do you have any photos of the ZUK mod you did?
I'm wondering how much of the frame bump stops you cut off and where you crammed the springs...and also wondering if you fabbed anything on the top of the leaf spring/u bolts, or just crammed the spring on there....and lastly, what springs did you use (12" or 14")?

As you can see, my leafs are pretty much worthless these days:

It looks like you're in the same boat as me. I have a four inch pro comp lift as well, and not even the 3inch block can level it. Here are my plans: first thing I did was find a new set of u bolts, because the bolts for the block don't have enough thread without the block. Autozona has some that are really long, but threaded almost all the way up. Next I'm ordering 14" coils rated at 125lbs (recommend by zuk) and either his custom 6.5" shackles or TG 6" shackles. Finally, you have 2 options. Order a full zuk kit, a half kit (just the bottom section, zuk recommended a 1" spacer for the bottom), or find a local fabricator that can make if for you.

With this setup, it should level out a runner trying to match a 4" front lift.

(PIC) The springs I used were 2.5"ODx14"long. I dont know the #rating because I had them just kicking around. They could be stiffer.
I just slid them over the lower bump stop and between the upper after I split-em. I have had no issues with them at all and they improved the ride greatly. My leafs were as flat as yours.

I think the only thing I'm missing is what spring rate I would need. I have 4 " blocks in the rear and 4" IFS lift in the front. I have a 32" spare in the back but don't carry too much cargo. I wouldn't mind a little bit of a raked look and could always put in BJ spacers up front later to even it out.

Any advice on spring rates for these please?

100lbs or 125lbs. 100 will be softer, 125 will yeild slightly more lift, and still be a good ride. Also, take the blocks out if you do the springs. Otherwise you'll be way a$$ high. Not to mention blocks are total crap. Unless its a mall crawler.

Scroll down to Brent from Kentucky's pics. Same deal. The only main difference is that he used 12 inch coils with a few inches of spacers, but now that a 14 inch coil is available, not so many ugly spacers are needed. Note the position of the shackles with the spring installed, they are straight up and down. If more lift is desired, now is a good time to put some bigger shackles on. Zuk made him some custom 6.5" eye to eye shackles, with the final result being a slight rake.

Thanks Duckie, and thanks for the PMs about this - I think I'm definitely going this route in the new few weeks (on a trip all next week so won't get to it for a little while).

I'll need to get new U bolts if take those blocks out - hopefully shucks/checkers/kragen/orielly's has those cheap.

I'll be sure to document the process with lots of pics for everyone when I do this.

I am going to pick up some longer u-bolts this week so I can slip in a add-a-leaf to help out my springs.

I also need to do something about my leaky load valve.

I found some really long ubolts at autozone that were threaded plenty. After being installed, they will probably have to be cut at the bottom. The set of 4 was 14.99. I'll try to snap a pic of the I got later

do they come with nuts and needed washers? Are there different sized U Bolts for different axle configs - what should we look for when shopping?
