Has anybody used one of these on there 3vze engines before? They seem like they would fit perfectly

Some have had good luck w/ the 3vzfe coil swap... In addition to 8mm wires, setting plug gaps at supra specs, supra AFM swap, and timing adjustments (all using a wideband 02 to tune). Probably the more reliable way to go.

MSD's/aftermarket ignitions haven't been known to produce a lot of gains, and also have a tendency to fail and leave folks on these boards stranded I think. Believe it was to do primarily w/ water/corrosion issues I think, but if you search, I'm sure you'll find. Haven't tried myself...

I did exactly as rsr said on my old 3.0. Ran great, but the coil didn't hold up off road. Make sure if you do get an aftermarket coil like an MSD or accel you get one of the high vibration coils.

msd makes good stuff that just doesn't last. my mustangs had a bypass setup so when the msd box took a ˟˟˟˟ and left me on the side of the road, i could bypass it and get home. stick with a stock yota coil, you'll never see or feel a difference with an msd coil in your truck.

My coil was damaged so I decided to try out an aftermarket coil and widen plug gaps. No noticeable improvement in performance.

Most who run the supra coil keep their OEM one installed just in case...
