I had some of these on my FJ40 way back in the day. They were ok from what I could recall but it didn't get driven like my 4runner. I also didn't pull a 10 foot enclosed trailer while these were on either. Depending on the size you might want to look at PepBoys at the Dakota MT's. I currently have a set and I absolutely love them - they were cheap, they have great road manners, they balance well and have great tread.

I think they are only 3 ply tires. I had a couple of sets of them.
I gashed a couple sidewalls not enough to leak but they aren't as thick as swampers which are like 6 ply.

"The BFGoodrich Mud King XT is kind of your "middle of the road" mud tire that does "ok" in various conditions. Its lugs offer decent mud traction with the help of large voids spaced out enough to assist with the self cleaning of mud and debris. Aired down the sidewalls flex good however are quite thin and vulnerable with a low ply rating and a lack of wrap around tread. In snow and sand this tire does about average when compare to other mud terrain tires. Highway manners are better than expected from a mud tire with less than moderate noise level however its lack of sipes in the lugs gives it poorer traction on wet or icy roads. Tread life is about average. Cost is on the low side of mud terrain tires. Capable of being studded"

"Ply — One or two layers of heat and impact resistant, rubber-coated fabric used to form the body of the tire. Automobile and light truck tire plies are normally constructed of nylon or polyester cords."

The thing is with sidewall ply are always less than the surface ply rating or the contact patch of the tire that is on the ground.

Another helpful link for determining what load range and ply rating your tire is here:http://www.flashoffroad.com/features...oadrating.html

Here's page rating series of different tires: http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT.../tire-tech.htm

do you have a pic of the tire on your truck? i just called pep boys and seems like a good price. buy three get one free after the mail in rebate, $560 with road hazard and free rotate for the life of the tire. 285/75/16

not a bad deal!

Sure...here are some. I got the 31x10.5x15 for $99 each plus tax, install and I opted to install a set of metal valve stems.

Here wear are 4runner camping in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area...

Here we're on the beach on Ocracoke Island (OBX) NC. - W/ about 18 PSI of AIR.

My 4runner just didn't look right before I put the hella's on....

Great info thankyou everyone! Those tires look sick on your runner wardriver! Now that I have more info I am probally going to go with the interco trxus mt's, I like the sidewall traction and the 6 ply rating, especially when I air down. I have heard good ratings about these tires so far.

Just an FYI, the Definity M/T's don't come in 33x12.5x15, but the A/Ts do. Also, their buy 3, get 4th free deal didn't seem that great after they quoted me the labor at about the same price as one tire.

Edit: Mud King Tread Plies: 2 Polyester + 2 steel - Sidewall Plies: 2 Polyester.

well I ended up going with the tread wrights afterall! I changed my mind a hundred times. lol. But they are on my truck for those who haven't seen my other post. They are great tires, not to mention it was a great price. The best part was I met a fellow yota enthusiast the same day the tires arrived at my house. Best part he owns a tire machine, and he only lives 10 min. from my house. He put them on for me for free. But in exchange for doing so I gave a set of old manual hubs I had kicking around!
