Massive power loss

Hi I have a 95toyota 4runner a couple months ago I replaced to timing belt ever since then I have had a massive power loss and real bad buck on the highway it has 218 thousand miles and I just replace the spark plugs cap rotor and distributer could these symptoms be a sign I didn't put timing g belt on correctly or could it be something else

Thank you for answering yes it is the 3.0 so is there any way to correct the cam timing besides tearing off the front end and taking off the belt

You'll have to open up the front end and look at the timing marks on the cam and crank to be sure they are aligned correctly.

Was it like this before you replaced the distributor? I know that if your distributors off a tooth it wont run right. Might be something to check before you tear it apart.

Does it idle correctly and sound like its running right but just not have the power it should?

i agree with drmix i just retimed everything on my friends 89 4runner it would run with the distributor tooth one off it was a little rough idling but for the first week after he bought it he just thought it was because the the original motor had 309k when it was running a tooth of it would rev very slow and at higher rpm it would shake i say pull the distributor make sure its set right

Check timing belt marks. Most often if the teeth are off, the distributed will never line up right.

1- pull the timing cover, put #1cyl at tdc and check the timing marks, and ?? then post a pic here of the marks and we can help.

2- is thats os check your timing make sure the engine is in time

C- Check the dist to make sure it is set correctly. (if its off a tooth your timing should be way off)

let us know how it goes!
