marlin rear bumper and motorcycle

I just picked up a 81 xs1100 in a trade and was wondering if the marlin rear bumper will support a hitch receiver motorcycle rack the bike weighs about 600lbs?

Bumper will be fine. Your truck will drag ass.

Yeah you are going to need some extra spring help. Maybe look at the Zuk mod. It may not be a real pleasant ride. It is going to take a lot of weight off the front end and it may not drive real well.
Maybe put it in the back of the truck or get a small trailer would be safer.
Not trying to be a smart a__, just trying to keep you safe. LOL

I used to plow with a 94 and had over 400lbs of ballast behind the rear wheels. It did fine.

i'm sure it'll handle it, but dang an xs1100 is a heavy pig! your rig will definitely be dragging ass with ~600lbs hanging off the back! if it were me, i'd find a truck or rent a trailer just because i'm assuming that your rig is pretty tall already if you've got a MC bumper on it - those bike carriers don't have very long loading planks and it's gonna be hard to get it up on it especially if it doesn't run(which i'm assuming is why you're trailering it).

yeah id definitely look into a small trailer if youre transporting it anywhere outside of your locality. i could not imagine it would be a nice drive with that big ol thing hangin off the back of the truck
