Marlin bumper install questions...

I just bought a marlin bumper and attempted to install it tonight. i got the old smittybilt off and took the bumper guards from the corners. I tried lifting the bumper to line up the holes, but it won't seem to line up because it keeps hitting the metal supports for the old bumper ends. Did you guys have to cut them off before the you installed the bumper. It doesn't seem like it would fit with the supports on the truck. It also looks like the only way to get the tabs off it using a cutting wheel. any tips?

sorry about that. it's a rear bumper for a 1988 4runner. Marlin told me that no trimming was required, but there is a rectangular plate on either side of the vehicle that supported the old bumper end. it doesn't look like the bumper would fit up the mounting plates with them still on the car. trimming seems to be the only solution. i'm just wondering if other people ran into the same issue because i haven't seen it in my searches on the forum.

ya its no big deal, go ahead and drill out the weld or cut it off with some tin snips or somethign similar. Or just use a cutting wheel.
