Manual Transmission Radiator Source

Does anyone have a source for finding a new radiator that does not have automatic transmission cooler built into it? 93 2WD 22RE

Thanks.

Keep it simple. Two fewer opportunities for coolant leaks.

I am pretty sure all radiators come that way .

At least from what I have seen on the aftermarket ones I bought.

If you have a leak out of that area of the radiator you have some serious problems.

as the lower radiator tank has failed in a really bad way.

Actually this truck came with a radiator leaking from one of those fittings. I took off the big nut and washer, cleaned it out and glued it back up with silicone. Two radiators on my Ford that actually has an AT both have leaked at those same type of connections, not the kind of leak that leaves you stranded in the desert but leaks nonetheless. You have here a metal threaded fitting clamped to a hole in molded plastic, not the best of designs. I'm sure plenty of these are on the road without issue but it would be nice if those AT cooler fittings were simply not there.

Anyone know if these are made without AT coolers inside them?

I see now I never buy Radiators with plastic tanks.

I could see where they would crack and leak over time.

I Would check with your local Radiator shop.

Or Our Radiator God on here !!!

I would bet Summit Racing might have something that might work for you.

Pretty much everything comes with the cooler in it now days as far as a new complete radiator is concerned. I don't usually see the coolers themselves leaking, and leakage around where they are attached to the radiator tank isn't super common either. More common than the cooler itself for sure though. There is a way of replacing the seals there though,as long as you have the right seals. Some just have an o-ring or two,and others have specific flat rubber washers. Try to get away from plastic/aluminum radiators is the best advise I can give you. The copper/brass radiators now days aren't that much better quality though.
