Manual to Power Window Swap?

Is there an easy way to switch the power windows on an
'88 Runner from power to manual? Is there room in the door already? Do I just have to buy a manual regulator and a crank and bolt it up? Thanks.

just buy the regulator, the handle, and cut a hole in the panel for the regulator. The door shells come pre-drilled from the factory to accept both styles.

Swap?

I've asked the same question on several forums, and the consensus seems to be that the doors are the same, but you'd need to source the manual regulator, the crank handle, AND(most expensive of all!) the interior door panel. That said, using used but good condition parts, I figure it'll run me about $100 per door(if I have to do it), buying the parts from dismantler yards.

The regulator and handle are easy to find, the door panel is the hard one to find in the right color, trim style, AND still in good shape.

It's very easy, the doors are the same for manual and power. There are 2 different types of regulators and door panels, those with wing windows and those without.

I love my manual windows, I also disconnected the power locks.

honestly, the easiest way to go is to buy doors that are prewired and have all the stuff. just pop the door on, run the power to the battery or stereo wire, and your all set.

You forget about the color of the other doors not matching most likely.

I believe he wants to go from power to manual. I think the thread title is just wrong.

Pull all the electric crap out, and put the manual crap in. Simple.

I still don't see why you'd wanna go for the manual ones if you got power already. Maybe you should just find someone with manual windows that wants power windows, and swap doors, or something. I kinda like not having to lean over the seat, and stretch to the back just to put my windows up, but to each his own, and I've got a 4Runner, so I've got an extra 2 windows. Good luck on the swap
