Manuaal to Auto swap
Ok first off I know I am going to get hate mail for wanting to do this. I have my reasons. I was in an accident a year back and dont have total use of my left leg. So there fore cant push the clutch, and to be honest I miss driving my runner.
What I have, I have a 91 4Runner.. I know I can get an auto transmission pretty easily and cheaply, but what else would I need, What else needs to be done?
PLease dont flame me to much. I just want to get back in and be able to drive again. Ive gone through enough difficulties lately.

I had a guy pay me to do a manual to auto swap in a civic.
It was the worst thing ever. We had to take two cars down to the bare inside to get the auto harness out of one and into the other for the computer system. Then had to fabricate the shifter system to fit.
Then fabricate mounts etc.
I told him it was the last one i would do that to.
I know this is not a civic. I don't know what all it entails.
However i can say you would be better off selling yours and buying an auto.

Along with the trans you should need to change the engine harness and ecu and shifter.
I bought an auto brake lever but cut the pedal off and welded it on the manual brake lever for max leg room. I have a lot of steel in my leg too.
I don't know if the driveshaft is different.
I don't it would be that complicated.
Btw auto's work better than I thought off road and in snow.

I'm with 92ehatch, as I've also done a transmission swap, although it was auto to manual, also in a Civic lol. But, I'm sure it's a whole different world having to swap in the entire auto trans harness. I would agree with selling the truck and getting an auto or you could even find someone that would down right trade an auto trans truck for a manual trans truck.

It is not the major things they are pretty straight forward it is all the little things .
If your leg is that bad can you still do this yourself with help or need to have it done ??
Never having gone this way but quite a few the other.
The best way for me is to have a complete donor vehicle sitting at hand it just saves the numerous trips despite the best parts list you can have
Things you might not think of the really add up fast .
Best of luck!!
You should be able to make a package deal for yourremoved goodies.
