Have a freshly rebuilt from top to bottom 22re should I run lucus after my break in period or not? I currently have joe gibbs break in oil in it

If you run a good oil and change it regularly, you don't need additives like Lucas. I run Mobil 1 High Mileage, great oil. Any oil changed frequently is better than the best oil changed infrequently

Just stick with a good oil. Lucas is a great marketing company, not an oil company. I have no faith in their R&D or products.

When I got my '89 22re back to life, I used Lucas for about 2 months (2 oil changes), the only thing I noticed is my front main seal quit leaking, once I switched to High Mileage the leak resumed. Why did I use it, I figure after sitting for ten years it couldn't hurt.

Meh I run the cheapest stuff the auto parts store sells. Oil is oil. Change it on time and forget about it.

Your truck is not a high performance or precision vehicle.

I use it on ALL MY vehicles. I have used it on my 2005 Camry since mile 1 and now at 133k the oil stays clean even when its time to change it... I have to attribute that to the LUCAS and the fully synthetic since day 1.

I use it on my high mileage vehicles as well... I want the best for my cars. I dont use it as a sealant or anything, just as an additive for its benefits since it does appear to me to make engines run smoother.

i use lucas in every gear box/case/diff and my lunchbox locker is as quiet as a mouse. (no clicking and snapping) hardly anyone knows that i even have one, they all just think im a good driver. lmao, boy ive got them fooled! ive also noticed that in noisey old hi mileage 5speeds and t-cases seem to run quieter when changed to lucas. seems like this shouldnt be a bad thing. i also agree that any oil changed often is better than good oil not not changed. piont in case when i punched a hole in my diff, patched with epoxy, and filled with 30 wt no name motor oil lasted all weekend with no ill effects.

I havent used in my Yota but did in 2 Broncos I had. Older carb engines. In my 351M in my 78 it was great, by 89 with a 302 was already screwed up when i got it but it did help. I use the Lucas fuel additive/cleaner in my 97 F150 and my wifes 10 Fusion. I like it. My dad has used Lucas for years and he had been a mechanic since 79. He used it in his 90 4Runner and it did fine. You could try the Engine Restorer. I like it. Have used it all my older engies and its great.
