Loose shifter guild pins

First off some how i spelled the tilte wrong should have been guide. anyway I have a very sloppy as in moves 2 inches in gear shifter. So I replaced the upper bushing which helped some.but now need to replace the lower seat. I had a spare housing with lever in the garage so I disassembled it to inspect the seat in it and found the guide pins the shifter ball slots fit into loose due to the steel pins wearing out the aluminum.when I held them in tight the play was 1/2 of what it was.so I had been reading were some people have found them broke off an replaced them with ground down bolts.so I grabbed some hardened bolts I had laying around that had that were just threaded on the end and were the same size the pins were and used them.the pins are smaller were they go through the housing so I drill the housing the same as the large end of the pin and cut them to length and pressed them in and it worked out perfect I just have to wait to get my lower seat to try it out.does anyone see anything wrong with this fix?i will post some pics

I did a remarkably similar fix several years ago. You shouldnt have any problems.

If your fix has lasted for several years thats good enough for me.It sounds like it will hold up well for me.Thanks for the input.
