Clean truck. I'd go with a 31" tire, very common size available everywhere. Tire depends on the use your truck will see but a good AT is a good choice for street and light weekend wheeling. For wheels, I'd get OEM alloys if you can find some used. Clean them up good and paint the recessed textured parts black - it really makes them pop. Used to be some pics here to a pic but I can't locate it anymore. Good luck!

I always liked the BFG A/T tires with American Racing Outlaw II rims.

Bang for buck, 31" Nexen AT Pro RA8, decent to good all terrain, wet traction is great, snow/ice ok, pretty standard AT stuff. They're not bfg's, so people may hate on them. I went with them because family has had good experience with Nexen tires, figured I'd try them. Good so far.

+1 on 31-inch tires on your current rims, but if u want prettier rims,
Check out these 16-inch 1999 4Runner SR5 rims. Subtle, elegant, simple...

No clue on the rims.... I run 31" and 10.5 on my pickup and it's stock height, truck looks sweet with the big tires!

There are many oem styles you can direct swap.

I recommend first, do a Google IMAGE search for "4runner wheels", or Tacoma. Identify a set you like. Determine if you want steel like you have, or alloys. Determine if you want 6-spoke or 5.

Then browse Craigslist for nice used OEM wheels pulled from new cars where the owner has gone up to larger aftermarket wheels. Like these:

As long as you get OEM 6x5.5, you should be able to swap 16s or 17s no problem. Buy them with used meats installed if you're concerned about rubbing so you can test drive them.

A 31" x 10.5" is a nice size for stock height. Bigger= slower until you regear.
